web & print Skills Summary
Although I started my career primarily as a print designer, in the mid-Nineties I started designing and building websites, and over time web design has become the focus of my career. I enjoy the ever-evolving challenge of fusing great design with innovative web technology.

• Since 1996, when my first website design earned a Four Star review from Excite, I have supervised web design projects from the discovery process through launch. Over the years my websites have continued to win design awards including two Bronze and a Silver Horizon Interactive Awards.
• While on staff for in-house corporate and product marketing departments, I have worked closely with Directors of Marketing and PR, as well as with engineers and programmers, in order to ensure that complex web sites and applications are presented with consistent and current design standards. In this context I have also managed small teams of web designers.
• I have experience in developing site architecture, file naming conventions, sitemap XML files and meta data with search engine optimization in mind.
• My templates are coded and designed using clean, valid XHTML and CSS in order to create quick-loading, accessible sites. I have experience coordinating design efforts with PHP, Cold Fusion, and Drupal developers.

Prepress
I have prepared files for submission to magazines, for film output, for high-gloss full-color print jobs, for low-budget two-color print jobs, and for large-scale output for banners and signs.
• Over the years I’ve designed a wide range of design projects including full color B2B print ads, software packaging and manuals, corporate identity packages, brochures, booklets, invitations, bookmarks and postcards and other printed marketing collateral.
• In taking marketing collateral projects from start to finish, I’ve interviewed clients to review their project’s needs as part of the discovery process, completed and presented comps and revisions, purchased photography and illustration, and prepared files for output.
• In my staff roles as a Creative Director at a visual effects company and as Art Director at a new media company, I was responsible for creating the corporate identity style guide and enforcing its correct application to in-house design projects.
• As a staff Photoshop Supervisor, I supervised the compositing of complex photo-realistic illustrations for print ads and bid-winning presentations, that held up to feature film visual standards.
